The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) will question PKR Youth chief Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin over allegations of bribery involving Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak’s younger brother, Nazim.

According to Shamsul, he was asked to go to the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya for questioning tomorrow morning after he lodged a report on the matter to the anti-corruption commission.

Shamsul had yesterday led a team of Pakatan Youth – including DAP Youth chief Anthony Loke and PAS Youth chief Nasarudin Hassan – to file report against Nazim Razak, an architect, and one Deepak, a businessman, following the claim by private investigator P Balasubramaniam that he was offered money in return for his silence.

Balasubramaniam has last month revealed through a series of video clips posted on the Internet that he was offered RM5 million by Nazim and Deepak to retract his statutory declaration which claimed that the prime minister had close ties with murdered Mongolian beauty Altantuya Shaariibuu.

“We believed Nazim and Deepak, who is said to be a good friend of Najib’s wife Rosmah Mansor, have committed several offences which could be deemed as corruption,” said the Pakatan trio in their report to MACC.

According to the report, Nazim and Deepak had allegedly:
1. Offered RM5 million to Balasubramaniam to retract his first declaration signed on July 1, 2008.

2. Threatened the safety of Balasubramaniam’s family should he failed to follow their instructions.

3. Urged police officer ASP Suresh Kumar to bring Balasubramaniam to a restaurant in Rawang to meet with Deepak and another individual, Dinesh Jayakishan.

4. Involved in the deployment of military intelligence personal to stake out at Balasubramaniam’s house as informed by Deepak.

5. Force Balasubramaniam to sign a prepared statutory declaration despite that it contained questionable facts.

6. Gave almost RM750,000 to Balasubramaniam during his one-year “disappearance” and transferred 500,000 rupee (RM36,600) into a bank account for his child’s schooling.

7. Held on to Balasubramaniam’s passport for five months to ensure that he could not return home until Najib became Malaysian prime minister.

Two explosive SDs

“I urged that those names mentioned by Balasubramaniam in the video clips be summoned by MACC and investigated,” said Shamsul.

Balasubramaniam, who was hired by Najib’s confidant Abdul Razak Baginda, had last year produced an explosive statutory declaration alleging that the prime minister had close personal ties with Altantuya.

But 24 hours later, in a dramatic reversal, the private investigator recanted his statutory declaration and subsequently went into hiding in India for over one year.

In August, he re-emerged in Malaysia to stand by his first statutory declaration, saying that threats and inducements were used by certain quarters to make him change his story.

  1. The end and final results are ‘NFA’ ! This is the instruction of Najib.
What a waste of time !
Najib is now the P.M. and takes no instruction from anybody least from MACC or the police and that is why he or through his wife tried so hard to delay the issue and had Bala in hiding before he becomes the P.M.. That was all the time he needed !
